The Eden’s Gift Challenge:
If we are paying attention, we will notice that many people throughout our lives will have a truly powerful impact on us as we go. If we sit and think, most of us could name a handful of people who had the kind of influence on us that we can say our lives are better because of their investment within us. Marion Edens was one of those kind of men within the Tusculum family. A professional who held several different positions throughout his tenure at then Tusculum College. Whether coaching football, baseball, athletic director, or later within admissions; he was a man of significant impact. There are many Marion Edens stories that circulate among our alumni of the 40’s, 50’s, and beyond. Without exception, those stories always point to the influence held by one man on his neighbors, his community, his students, and his Tusculum family.
We are pleased to announce that an anonymous donor has stepped up to issue a challenge during the Pioneer Nation, Day of Giving to endow a scholarship in honor of Marion Edens. This alumni will has agreed to provide a dollar to dollar match up to $11,000.00 to establish a scholarship in honor of Marion Edens. Even if you never had the pleasure of knowing Coach Edens, you can still have an impact on future Pioneers just like he did. Help us accept the challenge and make this scholarship a reality.
